Who am I?

Me on May Day

Me Wearing a Ridiculous Hat on May Day

Hello. I’m Elizabeth and I’m about to start my senior year at Bryn Mawr. It’s still really weird for me to say that.

I’m from Upstate New York (outside of Albany),  so I really like the snow. Philly doesn’t get quite enough for me.

I’m a history major at Haverford, focused on Russia. A good chunk of my year will be spent writing my thesis. Right now, my topic is dissident Soviet media. But it will probably evolve over the year.

Other things to know about me…I’m the SGA Elections Head. The title isn’t all that creative. I run student government elections.

I “play” squash in our squash club. Play is in quotation marks, because really, I just flail with style and occasionally hit the ball. I’m more of a social squash player than anything else.

This semester, I’m also working for USA Today as a college correspondent. I’ll be writing once a week for their college page. I worked for the Bi-College News (Bryn Mawr and Haverford’s newspaper) for five semesters and interned this summer at the Gaston Gazette, in Gastonia North Carolina.

When I’m not doing one of those things, I can be found having two hour long brunches with my friends in Haffner or watching my beloved Yankees (who will hopefully soon pull ahead of the Red Sox in the standings.)
